The 504 Coordinator oversees Section 504 program compliance for Ohio Virtual Academy students. This position is remote.
This is a full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.
Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
- Place records requests to ensure necessary student documentation is obtained;
- Review data and make determinations/conducts evaluations along with committee regarding 504 eligibilities;
- Ensure 504 plans are reviewed bi-annually and adjusted as needed;
- Conduct Triennial evaluations for existing 504 plan students;
- Facilitate the updating, informing, reviewing and distributing of Section 504 materials to staff;
- Ensure 504's are being implemented with integrity; Report concerns to the administrator;
- Oversee management of 504 Parent Notice Forms, Section 504 Parent Consent for Evaluation, and 504 Parent Rights and Procedural Safeguards within time constraints;
- Ensure stakeholders are provided copies of Accommodation Plan within time constraints;
- Ensure 504 students receive proper accommodations for state testing;
- Train staff regarding proper procedures, deadlines, and how to implement accommodations annually;
- Ensure all documentation and 504 student information is monitored and updated in tracking tool;
- Ensure that all documents are prepared and filed for annual internal audit;
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree AND
- Three (3) years of related professional experience OR
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- Able to pass required background check
- Three (3) years of directly related experience in an online school setting
WORK ENVIRONMENT: These work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- The noise level in the home office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic, household appliances, and household distractions).
- The noise level at meeting locations throughout the state are typically moderate and should not vary much from what is experienced in the home office.
