Join us in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism. We are currently seeking a Learning and Development Director to join our highly skilled ABA team. The ABA Learning and Development Director is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of learning and professional development initiatives that strengthen staff competency and drive high-quality client outcomes. In collaboration with the Director of ABA Services, this role oversees onboarding, training, leadership development, and continuous learning programs to ensure the delivery of effective, evidence-based ABA services. The Director ensures all learning initiatives align with organizational values, quality improvement goals, BACB standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Assists in the development and execution of goals and initiatives for the ABA Learning and Development team 
  • Directs and manages the Learning and Development Specialists, including recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, mentoring, performance evaluations, and performance management 
  • Conducts regular individual and team meetings to provide feedback, establish expectations, and support employee development 
  • Ensures consistent learning experiences and training practices across all ABA service locations

  • Collaborate with the Director of ABA Services to develop department-wide learning strategies, quality improvement initiatives, and workforce development plans that support organizational goals and high-quality client outcomes 
  • Designs, implements, evaluates, and maintains onboarding, training, and professional development programs that promote clinical excellence, staff competency, and adherence to evidence-based ABA practices and adult learning principles 
  • Conducts Training Needs Analyses (TNA) to identify competency gaps, learning objectives, and professional development opportunities 
  • Facilitates learning experiences for internal and external stakeholders and assists in providing agency-wide training on clinical topics, best practices, and areas of expertise 
  • Provides ongoing clinical support, coaching, and professional development opportunities to Behavior Analysts and other ABA team members 
  • Utilizes Behavioral Skills Training (BST) and other evidence-based instructional strategies throughout training activities 
  • Ensures completion and documentation of required onboarding, credentialing, licensure, certification, and mandatory training requirements for ABA staff 
  • Maintains all requirements necessary to serve as a Certified Medication Technician (CMT) Instructor; obtain and maintain CPR Instructor certification as required 
  • Maintains BCBA certification and licensure requirements 
  • Monitors and supports compliance with BACB standards, including RBT credentialing, supervision requirements, ethics standards, and ACE Provider requirements 

What you need to be considered:
  • Master’s degree and BCBA or Doctorate Degree with BCBA-D
  • Must have BCBA certification
  • Minimum of three years of experience in the ABA field required with at least two years as a BCBA required 
  • Experience training RBTs, BCBAs and BCBA candidates/students required 
  • Minumum of two years of experience in learning and development preferred
  • Current BCBA or BCBA-D certification required 
  • Current Indiana Behavior Analyst licensure required 
  • RBT Supervisor 8-hour Supervision Training 
  • Formal training and/or demonstrated experience implementing Practical Functional Assessment (PFA) and Skills-Based Treatment (SBT) methodologies preferred 
  • Must have or be able to obtain Critical Moment Training (CMT) Trainer Certification 
  • Must have or be able to obtain 1st Aid/CPR Trainer Certification 
  • Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirements 
  • Must meet and maintain background screening requirements for all Damar Programs as detailed in policy 1.HR.02 
  • Pre-Employment and Employee Background Checks 
  • Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving) 
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical required
