Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares Academic Plans for MSW students. This includes multiple program plans for students in varying programs who have different time lines for completing the program and who enter at different points, requiring specialized planning. Schedules and leads group advising sessions for students in preparation for semester registration. Prepares advising templates for new academic programs and specializations within the degree program. Assists students with meeting conditions of academic performance. Provides resources and advising plans for students experiencing personal or academic difficulties in the program. Works with the Assistant Director of Advising for students on probation; Works with students filing a grievance to resolve grade disputes, dismissal decisions, etc. Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience  | Master’s degree in Social Work. One to two years of related experience.

Qualifications  | LSW licensure preferred. One to two years of related experience in an academic setting. Ability to make effective presentations to various groups, both internal and external to the SSW. Possess excellent interpersonal, customer relations and team development skills, including cultural competency, conflict management and problem solving skills.
Certificates/Credentials/Licenses  | LSW licensure preferred.
Computer Skills  | Proficient computer skills. Microsoft Office . Other advising related software. Adept of e-mail and other office automation systems.
