DACC is hiring an Academic Advisor Education. The advisor assists students in planning and achieving educational goals, providing guidance on course selection, transfer processes, and academic success strategies while liaising with faculty and support services to facilitate student progress.
Highlights
Assist new, transfer, readmitted, and continuing students in educational planning and goal setting aligned with career aspirations.
Advise students on academic habits, course registration, and initial placement in English and math courses.
Engage with dual credit and early college high school students by traveling to high school sites and verifying eligibility.
Support students during orientation and connect them to resources such as financial aid, career services, and accessibility services.
Maintain detailed advising records and update student academic information in the student information system.
Respond to faculty early alert referrals and provide guidance to caseload students on academic supports.
Assist with financial aid appeals, veteran VA degree checks, retroactive requests, registration holds, and course substitutions.
Help inbound and outbound transfer students navigate transcript evaluation and transfer-related challenges.
Facilitate the graduation application and final degree audit process for students completing programs.
Required qualifications include an Associate's degree plus 2 years relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree; preferred experience includes academic advising in higher education and effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Compensation ranges from $43,908.80 to $54,885.74 annually, commensurate with qualifications.
