Job Summary
Under the direction of the Program Manager for Pre-Doctoral Programs, help coordinate the following: development and delivery of departmental educational programs, including ongoing program assessment and improvement. Prepares materials and supports classes, workshops, events, seminars, and other services for the department. May assist with program promotion and/or implementation, budget, administration and reporting.

This position is eligible for a hybrid (telecommuting and in-office) rotating scheduling.

Essential Functions 
  1. Support for Dentistry program including but not limited to registration, curriculum, grading, evaluations and student affairs.
  2. Support with university departments and faculty from collecting, organizing and analyzing data for specialized reports.
  3. Support with Canvas and proctoring of Exams.
  4. Planning and developing student programs, events and meetings, with faculty regarding courses, required material, testing and meeting scheduling. 
  5. Maintains and analyzes data pertaining to program participants and efficacy. 
  6. Acts as department liaison to program participants, community members and/or external organizations.
  7. Conveys course information to students; may review student records for graduation requirement approval.
  8. Performs clerical support, as needed, including scheduling appointments, participating in faculty and departmental meetings, transcribing minutes, responding to phone calls, and typing correspondence, lectures and manuscripts.
  9. Plans program events, distributes itineraries and coordinates or supports catered events.
  10. Other duties as assigned.
 
Problem Solving 
The incumbent provides independent oversight and decision making for activities related to department programs. Problems arising from these efforts will be addressed by the incumbent who will refer to their manager any issues outside of program policy and procedure guidelines.
 
Comments 
Some travel may be required.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related area plus three years of experience in budget, grant and program management or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. Develops and implements program ideas into successful academic and research programs; demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

  • 2 years of direct academic program coordination experience. OR
  • Direct academic advising experience or equivalency (one year of program coordination can be substituted for two years of related work experience).
