Work Schedule Summary | 19 regular hours each week between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday. Employees will work with their supervisors to set their schedule.
This is a fully remote position. In order to perform the job responsibilities remotely, reliable, private internet connection is required. Staff will be provided a university laptop to be used exclusively for job functions.

Pay Rate Range | $14.00 – $16.00 per hour. First year evaluators will start at $14.00 per hour. Wage will increase by 50 cents each subsequent year the evaluator works for the University of Utah Office of Admissions with a cap at $16.00 per hour.

Job Summary | The Office of Admissions is hiring remote, part-time Application Evaluators who will support the work of two different teams throughout the year. Application Evaluators will be trained to review applications to the Graduate School mid-September to mid-March and applications to gain residency (which enables students to pay the in-state tuition rate) mid-March to mid-September.
Employees will be trained to evaluate academic transcripts, test scores, and other academic credentials as well as documentation of Utah domiciliary ties and other residency requirements. They will prepare, verify, and enter data into computerized student information systems. While the main tasks of this position are clerical and detail-oriented, Application Evaluators may also correspond with students and campus partners to provide customer service.
Responsibilities | Learn the University of Utah’s policies and procedures for graduate admission and residency eligibility. Evaluate graduate applications for all University of Utah campuses. Evaluate applications for residency for tuition purposes. Process and verify credentials. Monitor student files to ensure information is complete and updated by filling in information and changing records when applicable. Manage daily work responsibilities and recommend changes to supervisor to improve processes. Respond promptly to emails from students and campus partners and to Teams messages from colleagues. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications | Three years of general office experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience), one of which in an academic setting; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required. College coursework in a related area is preferred.
