Job Description:

The Academic Success Advising Coordinator completes all duties as outlined within the Academic Success Advisor positions and directly reports to a manager, chair, or director to plan, organize, and coordinate academic advising activities. Acts as a highly skilled resource in promoting student recruitment, retention, success, and graduation, with primary responsibility for advising and recruiting Accelerated Pathway students. Works collaboratively and collegially with academic units and services throughout the university to facilitate comprehensive student support through a range of in-person and virtual academic counseling, recruitment, and support strategies.

Essential Duties:

  • Serves as the primary coordinator for the recruitment, advising, and evaluation of Accelerated Pathway students.

  • Develops and implements recruitment strategies to attract prospective students, represents the program at recruitment events and presentations, and serves as a key point of contact for prospective students, families, school partners, and university stakeholders.

  • Provides comprehensive academic advising to Accelerated Pathway students through individual and group advising, guiding students in academic planning, degree progression, university resources, and successful transition into undergraduate and graduate pathways.

  • Proactively monitors student academic performance, identifies areas of concern, and collaborates with students, faculty, and staff to support retention, academic success, and timely progression through the program.

  • Coordinates evaluation and assessment activities related to Accelerated Pathway student success, including tracking enrollment, retention, progression, and completion outcomes.

  • Utilizes university systems, student data, and program metrics to analyze trends, prepare reports, evaluate program effectiveness, and recommend improvements to recruitment, advising, and student support practices.

  • Collaborates with academic units and university partners to ensure a seamless student experience and alignment with institutional goals.

  • Manages complex student situations, provides guidance regarding policies and procedures, and develops solutions to support student success.

  • Leads program initiatives, coordinates projects and activities related to Accelerated Pathways, and contributes to the development and implementation of program processes, communications, and strategic priorities.

  • Maintains proficiency in student information systems, customer relationship management platforms, degree progress tools, and other technologies that support recruitment, advising, and student success efforts.

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and serves as a resource regarding Accelerated Pathway program requirements, opportunities, and outcomes.

  • Experience developing, implementing, evaluating, and improving student-focused programs, advising practices, recruitment strategies, or operational processes.

  • Ability to prepare detailed reports, presentations, proposals, and related materials to support program goals and decision-making.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and service excellence.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of colleagues and constituents while fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for prospective and current undergraduate and graduate students.

The New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences at Arizona State University is seeking a motivated individual to join our graduate program advising team. Utilizing holistic academic advising and support strategies, this position will support online graduate students in making timely progress toward a degree. They will work as part of a team to increase persistence and graduation rates. This position requires in-person onboarding and additional in-person work located at ASU's West Valley campus. There is possibility for hybrid or remote work at the discretion of the supervisor and as business need permits.

This position may require driving. Employee must possess a valid US Driver's license of the appropriate class and required endorsements throughout employment.
