Job Description | Brightpoint Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education and is the third largest of Virginia’s 23 community colleges. Brightpoint invites qualified applicants to apply to the position of Academic Support and Compliance Coordinator. The incumbent will report to the Dean of Academic Support and Strategic Partnerships and will be responsible for providing academic technology training and support to faculty and staff. This position will serve as the senior administrator of the College’s learning management system (Canvas), ensuring timely responses to issues and inquiries as they arise. In collaboration with faculty and administrators, the Coordinator will ensure that distance learning complies with federal, state, institutional, and accreditor regulations and guidelines, including NC-SARA compliance and reporting, as well as conducting annual distance learning course audits.
Special Assignments | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications | Advanced experience in the administration of Canvas or a comparable learning management system. Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technologies. Proven ability and willingness to learn and self-teach new technologies as needed. Skilled in assisting faculty and staff with educational technology issues, both individually and in group settings. Experience in compliance, as well as familiarity with educational policies and regulations. Strong ability to communicate effectively, organize and follow through on tasks, accurately retrieve data, resolve problems and manage situations calmly, and work independently on a variety of assignments. Successful completion of a criminal background check will be required.
