At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Los Angeles, CA! If you're committed to making a difference in the lives of students with special needs and helping them achieve academic success, we want to hear from you!
About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, youâll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Los Angeles, CA
Details:
- In-Person Tutoring in Los Angeles, CA
- Schedule: 10 hours a month; 1 session a week for 1.15 hours
- Competitive hourly rate based on experience
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with students with ASD or similar learning profiles.
- Knowledge of middle school English and math curricula.
- Strong understanding of executive functioning strategies and study skills.
- Ability to create engaging, hands-on, and student-centered lessons.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families.
- Background in special education, middle school education, or related fields preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized tutoring in English Language Arts, writing, and 7th-grade math.
- Support reading fluency, comprehension, and writing conventions.
- Assist with math problem-solving, word problems, and test preparation.
- Foster executive functioning skills, including organization, time management, and study strategies.
- Integrate student interestsâsuch as technology, video editing, and musicâinto lessons to increase engagement.
- Support social-emotional learning and promote confidence in academic tasks.
- Communicate progress and strategies with the family as needed.
