The University of Alabama is hiring an ACCESS Teacher - English for the 2026-2027 academic year on a temporary part-time basis. The teacher delivers web-based instruction to Alabama high school students, monitors student progress and participation, grades assignments, and communicates regularly with students, facilitators, and school administrators to ensure effective course delivery.
Highlights
Provide online instruction and support to Alabama high school students through a learning management system.
Maintain daily login to LMS, respond to student inquiries, provide feedback, and grade assignments.
Monitor student participation, login times, and communicate concerns with facilitators or administrators.
Prepare and post announcements, news items, and preview course materials before assigning.
Proficiency required in LMS platforms, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet skills.
Must possess a Bachelor's degree and valid Alabama State Department of Education teaching certificate for grades 6-12 or relevant faculty credentials from accredited institutions.
Required to pass a fingerprint/background check as mandated by Alabama State Department of Education.
Preferred candidates have three years teaching experience in Alabama or significant accomplishments; AP teachers must have AP training and experience.
Must reside within Alabama and demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students and educational staff.
