Job Description
The Account Operations Specialist is responsible for assisting in operational duties connected to the university wide refund process. This role ensures processes are in compliance with university, state, and federal regulations along with standard accounting procedures. The Specialist will provide timely and accurate processing of student related refunds using a variety of university wide applications, state and federal sites, as well as other system applications. They will work closely with a variety of offices across the institution and supports new and continuing students who are enrolling at the university. The Specialist will assist with the preparation of audit material as well as perform quality assurance duties as assigned. This role will support student retention, graduation, and satisfaction goals.
 
Job Duties
  • Supports university retention and graduation goals.
  • Processes refunds requested manually or via the system in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Researches and resolves account discrepancies.
  • Maintains accurate accounting documents and records.
  • Ensures compliance with university, state, and federal regulations and procedures.
  • Attends and participates in meetings as required.
  • Serves as backup and assists other functions as needed.
  • Completes any special projects or reports as needed for Supervisor.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree
  • 1 year of experience in student accounts, finance, or accounting role, preferably within a higher education setting.
  • Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is the discretion of the hiring manager.
