The University of Alabama is hiring an Accounting Assistant II. This role requires maintaining accurate financial records, providing accounting and bookkeeping support, and assisting University staff with financial policies and industry standards. The position also involves guiding and training entry-level Accounting Assistants and supporting the daily operations of the Institute of Data and Analytics.

Maintain accurate financial records and provide accounting/bookkeeping support
Assist University staff with understanding financial industry standards, laws, and policies
Provide guidance and training to entry-level Accounting Assistants
Support daily operations and budget reporting for the Institute of Data and Analytics (IDA)
Manage logistics for IDA faculty, staff, and visitors and assist in business and research meetings
Prepare financial paperwork including ePAs, MDVs, DTAs, and assist with travel reimbursements and reconciliations
Required skills include proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong communication, multitasking, self-motivation, and prioritization
Minimum qualifications: high school diploma or GED with 2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, or an associate's degree or higher
Pay range: $18.32 to $21.97 hourly (N4 pay grade)
Supports the Culverhouse Associate Dean of Faculty and Research within the Campus Financial Affairs department
