employee benefits. Position Summary Information
Summary | Compiles and maintains accounts payable records by performing the following duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities | include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Code and input invoices from various departments. Input and verify purchase orders. Distribute invoices to departments for approvals. Verify availability of budgeted funds of weekly requisitions. Match bookstore, library, and maintenance invoices to packing slips, purchase orders and other documentation. Prepare accounts payable checks to pay invoices, expense reports, and student refunds (per schedule). Participate in cross-training activities to assure office work coverage. Answer inquiries related to invoices, requisitions and budgeted funds. Reconcile monthly accounts payable balances to the general ledger and assist in the annual audit. Print all accounts payable reports and maintain all accounts payable files. Reconcile, code, and input credit card accounts. Demonstrate proficiency in all accounts payable procedures and CBU policies. Assist with special projects, as necessary.
Supervisory Responsibilities | This position could be responsible for assigning work and/or giving direction to part-time Student Workers, to complete office work assignments.

Ability to work independently with minimal assistance.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit; and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate computer keyboard, typewriter or other office equipment. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers; and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment, with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.
Education and/or Experience | Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent in Accounting or related field; and six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
