The Program Assistant in the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) is responsible for scheduling on-campus and online tutoring appointments for students, oversight for tutors’ and Nursing Supplemental Instruction Leaders work schedules, informing nursing students of meeting locations for Supplemental Instruction discussion sessions, creating and maintaining office files, and disseminating promotional materials for the Academic Center for Excellence. The incumbent is also responsible for all purchasing for the department, securing electronic and hard copies of textbooks for the department, registering nursing students for workshops, assisting students with general academic concerns, referring students to ACE resources, promoting the Brainfuse online tutoring program, maintaining statistical data, and creating semester reports. The Program Assistant Provide will also provide regular hours of coverage for the ACE Online Zoom room by greeting students, assessing their needs for academic support, scheduling appointments, and directing them to appropriate ACE Online breakout rooms in Zoom for online appointments with tutors, study groups, or visits to the online Math and Writing Centers. The incumbent will also assist with Welcome Day and other college events as well as to assist with the organization of the annual ACE Tutor Training Retreat. This is a 1450-hour part-time position. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as the first point of contact for students requesting academic assistance in the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) at the Locust Grove Campus; inform them of available services and resources; and schedule appropriate on-campus or online appointments for them. Contact students who have been referred to the ACE via Navigate “tutoring” alerts; schedule tutoring appointments and monitor students’ progress throughout each semester Provide coverage for the ACE Online Zoom room; greet students and assess their needs for academic support; schedule appointments; direct students to appropriate ACE Online Zoom breakout rooms. Maintain the ACE textbook database; confer with Instructional Services to determine which textbooks are utilized each year and order textbooks for all ACE locations and for the Nursing Instructional Assistants. Conduct all purchasing for the Academic Center for Excellence through eVA Coordinate remediation and workshops for nursing students by organizing Drug Dosage Workshops and Nursing SI sessions. Conduct tours and presentations to students who visit ACE; assist with Welcome Day and other college events.
