Administrative Coordinator - Reach for The Stars STEM Academy - Stockton (Temporary) Full Description

The Administrative Coordinator, UOP Reach for the Stars STEM Academy (RFTSSA), is responsible for managing a wide range of administrative tasks under the direct supervision of the School of Engineering Assistant Dean for Student Success. The Coordinator facilitates all administrative and logistical aspects of planning for the Reach for the Stars STEM Academy for the summer of 2026 on the Stockton University of the Pacific campus, an academically intense, mathematics-based summer enrichment program serving students in the Tracy Unified School District.
The Coordinator works directly with the Assistant Dean to continue to build, expand, and improve academy program delivery, and is instrumental in assisting teachers with curriculum implementation and project development, working closely with the Lead Teacher, other teachers, and classroom Teaching Assistants to deliver the daily curriculum.
Essential Functions
  • Support administrative functions required prior to the opening of the academy and collect academy data
  • Coordinate logistics for ordering classroom instructional supplies, setting up field trips, and ordering daily meals
  • Maintain an up-to-date reconciled operating budget for the academy
  • Serve as a first-stop source of assistance to parents, site administrators, academy classroom teachers, and visitors
  • Assist with project planning, tracking progress, and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Oversee the academy activity calendar and schedule meetings, field trips, and events
  • Interview, supervise, and train teaching assistants, volunteers, and/or work study students
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and a valid Multiple Subject, Single Subject Mathematics, or Science teaching credential, or STEM certification
  • Ten years of direct teaching experience in a public middle and/or high school setting
  • Five years of coordinator/project management experience in a public middle and/or high school setting
