Administrative Services Manager Full Description

Job Description
We are seeking an Administrative Services Manager to provide operational oversight and administrative support to VT Engage. The Administrative Services Manager plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the departmental functions. This position oversees administrative workflows, manages budgets and procurement processes, and coordinates facilities. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering service excellence.

Here’s what you need to know about the role:

1. You will join VT Engage: The Center for Leadership and Service Learning. VT Engage enhances the student experience by providing leadership education, civic engagement, service learning, and food access opportunities within the Virginia Tech and New River Valley community, nationally, and globally.

2. You will report to the Director of VT Engage, in a regular, full-time, 100% university staff appointment.

3. You will be primarily responsible for supporting the administrative functions of the office, including purchasing requests, budget tracking, hiring processes, administrative needs, calendaring, and programmatic support.

4. You will have the chance to grow and take advantage of a professional development plan with opportunities to advance within the Department and the Division.

5. You will be offered a base salary between $48,000 - $53,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts and so much more!

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent related work experience.
• Experience working with fiscal/budgetary operations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, professional office practices and procedures.
• Proficiency using office software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in higher education.
• Knowledge of university policies and procedures related to travel, payroll, procurement, and human resources.
• Proficiency with institutional software such as Banner, HokieMart, HokieSpa, Chrome River, Leave System, and Banner Time Entry.
• Advance computer skills.
