POSITION SPECIFICS
The Administrative Support Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Associate Dean for Student Success and supports cross-functional initiatives spanning the Chaiken Student Success Center, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) programming, and Undergraduate Recruitment and Career Services within the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST).
This role requires a high level of autonomy, sound judgment, and coordination across multiple stakeholders to support student success initiatives, inclusive excellence efforts, and recruitment activities. The position plays a critical role in advancing IST's commitment to belonging, access, and student-centered engagement from recruitment through graduation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Associate Dean for Student Success, including calendar and travel management, preparation of leadership materials, meeting support, special projects, and the handling of confidential student, personnel, and strategic information.
- Prepare agendas, minutes, presentations, briefing documents, and summary reports for leadership and college wide committees, and maintain accurate, organized electronic records in compliance with University retention policies.
- Coordinate seminars, workshops, retreats, and programs in support of Student Success initiatives, including providing backup support at events, and ensuring programs and activities are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with Penn State and IST values.
- Assist with initiating financial transactions and provide operational support as needed.
- Support climate surveys, recruiting metrics, participation tracking, and program assessment efforts by compiling data, summaries, and reports to support KPIs, accreditation, and strategic planning.
- Support outreach aligned with IST's "Be You in Tech" community and recruitment messaging.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School (HS)2+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $38,300.00 - $55,500.00.
