Position Summary
The Advancement Communications Coordinator is a creative and strategic storyteller responsible for developing and delivering compelling communications that engage Albright College’s alumni, donors, and broader community. This role ensures that messaging aligns with the College’s mission, showcases impact, and strengthens relationships with key stakeholders. The Coordinator will serve as a key link between Advancement and Communications, helping elevate Albright’s brand through meaningful content and digital engagement.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute donor-centric communications that inspire engagement and philanthropy, including impact stories, donor spotlights, annual fund appeals, and stewardship reports.
• Write, edit, and produce email campaigns, newsletters, event promotions, and print materials tailored to alumni, families, and donors.
• Create digital-first content and storytelling using photos, videos, graphics, and social media to amplify advancement campaigns and institutional milestones.
• Collaborate with the Communications team to ensure alignment across platforms and integrate Advancement messaging into college-wide communications.
• Manage content for Advancement web pages, ensuring timely updates and a user-friendly experience.
• Assist in writing speeches and event remarks for senior leaders and campaign chairs.
• Maintain and support the alumni online community and giving platforms in coordination with IT and communications colleagues.
• Track and evaluate communications performance metrics to improve outreach and donor engagement.
• Support the planning and promotion of Advancement-related events (e.g., Homecoming, Spring Gala, Reunion Weekend).
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in communications, preferably in a higher education or nonprofit setting.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a portfolio of written and visual content.
• Proficiency with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing platforms.
• Familiarity with email marketing tools (e.g., Constant Contact, Mailchimp) and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).
• Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices for audience engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across departments.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Albright College.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with fundraising or advancement communications.
• Familiarity with donor databases (e.g., Raiser’s Edge NXT, Salesforce) and analytics tools.
• Understanding of branding and integrated marketing principles.
• Comfort with basic photography and videography.
