Job Description:AI Content Operations Manager
Location:Oxford, GBR
Our mission is to unlock human potential. We welcome you for who you are, the background you bring, and we embrace individuals who get excited about learning. Bring your experiences, your perspectives, and your passion; it's in our differences that we empower the way the world learns.
About the Role:
We are seeking an operationally focused AI Content Operations Manager to build and scale the content management infrastructure supporting our growing AI licensing business. This role is responsible for designing repeatable processes, managing cross-functional projects, and operationalizing the full lifecycle of content preparation—from intake through delivery to licensees.
You will serve as the operational backbone connecting high-quality academic and professional content with technology companies and corporate clients implementing Large Language Model (LLM) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) applications. This role balances strategic process design with customer enablement activities, requiring both systems-thinking and hands-on execution.
Success in this role means building scalable operational frameworks that enable efficient content partner onboarding, maintain pipeline velocity, and ensure consistent quality standards as our licensing business grows.
How you will make an impact:
- Process Design and Operational Excellence: Design, document, and implement standardized workflows for content intake, evaluation, partner onboarding, and preparation for licensing across both Wiley and partner content sources.
- Pipeline Management: Manage the end-to-end content pipeline from initial intake through licensee-ready delivery, providing regular pipeline reporting, capacity forecasting, and status updates to leadership.
- Partner Onboarding: Lead the partner content onboarding process post-signature, coordinating across technical, product, and account management teams to ensure efficient content integration.
- Customer Enablement: Work closely with product management and business development teams to create customized content portfolios combining Wiley and partner content based on individual customer specifications.
- Quality & Velocity: Establish quality control checkpoints, service level agreements, and content readiness criteria to monitor pipeline velocity and reduce cycle time.
- Scalability: Develop scalable frameworks and operational playbooks that accommodate growing partner and content volume, building repeatable solutions across the AI licensing business.
- Publisher Collaboration: Collaborate with academic and research publishers to standardize metadata and content formatting while maintaining comprehensive content management databases.
What we look for:
- Proven ability to design and implement scalable operational processes from the ground up with proven project management experience in content operations, academic publishing, or information services.
- Demonstrated success managing cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities in complex and ambiguous environments.
- Detail-oriented professional with strong organizational capabilities and experience analyzing and categorizing large volumes of content efficiently.
- Proficiency with database management, metadata standards, and data quality practices combined with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with AI development or knowledge bases, bringing technical understanding to content operations.
- Strategic mindset that balances immediate operational needs with long-term scalability requirements.
