Edtech.com's Summary

Duke University is hiring an AI Learning Facilitator to teach faculty and staff in the School of Medicine's Office of Data Science and AI how to use Microsoft Copilot and other approved AI tools at work. The facilitator runs instructor-led sessions, demonstrations, and office hours for the Work Better With AI Academy, meeting learners at very different levels of technical comfort. The role also builds the training materials behind those sessions and feeds what it sees in the classroom back into the curriculum.

Highlights
  • Facilitate live and self-paced Work Better With AI Academy sessions, including instructor-led classes, breakout activities, office hours, and hands-on demonstrations.
  • Start out supporting sessions and running breakouts, then build toward leading complete sessions through rehearsal, observation, and feedback.
  • Record instructional videos and create job aids, exercises, slide decks, and self-paced resources from a given learning objective and module scope.
  • Resolve routine participant problems with access, files, meeting settings, and permissions, and escalate licensing, security, or privacy questions through established channels.
  • Track learner confusion and participation patterns, then recommend curriculum and facilitation improvements based on what comes up in sessions.
  • Test assigned workflows in Microsoft 365 and Copilot, and update outdated instructions and screenshots through the program's version-control process.
  • Bring a bachelor's degree in education, instructional design, information science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) plus two years of training, adult-learning facilitation, or user-support experience.
  • Hold working knowledge of generative AI, including prompt design, AI-assisted workflows, and responsible-use limits, along with practical Microsoft 365 experience.
  • Explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and know when a question needs escalation for privacy, security, or accessibility reasons.
  • Work in a hybrid, grant-funded term position that continues through the funded project period, and live in a Duke-approved state.
