Arizona State University (ASU), in partnership with American Student Assistance (ASA), is seeking a dynamic and motivated Workforce Innovation Fellow for a one-year, full-time Fellowship. This unique role is designed for a forward-thinking professional eager to explore and strengthen Arizona's workforce development ecosystem—particularly by better aligning K-12 education with the state's rapidly evolving economic and talent needs.
The Fellow will support a discovery process led by ASA in partnership with ASU to identify the most impactful gaps—and related solution ideas—around career-connected learning models in Arizona. The goal of this work is to co-create scalable career readiness strategies for middle school students into high skill, high-wage, high-demand career pathways.
A particular focus of the Fellowship will be understanding and supporting implementation within Arizona's charter school landscape—recognizing its significant role in the state's K-12 system and its potential as a testbed for bold, replicable models of career-connected learning.
The Fellow will lead efforts to engage cross-sector stakeholders, conduct research, surface best practices, and facilitate collaboration to shape the next generation of career exposure and readiness initiatives in Arizona's K-12 system.
Essential Duties:
- Conduct Landscape & Workforce Analysis-Map Arizona's current education-to-career systems and future workforce needs; Synthesize labor market trends, skills gaps, and sector-specific insights
- Engage Stakeholders Across Sectors: Build partnerships with K-12 leaders, employers, workforce boards, families, and community organizations; Facilitate listening sessions, co-design meetings, and working groups across key stakeholders including parents, educators, school Leadership
- Advance Middle School Career Exploration-Collaborate with traditional and charter schools to identify ways to increase exposure to high-growth industries; Design student- and family-centered models that demystify future careers
- Surface & Scale Best Practices-Identify replicable career-connected learning strategies from across Arizona and nationally; Produce actionable insights to guide program development and policy innovation
- Lead Innovation Strategy & Convenings-Shape a statewide innovation agenda focused on scalable solutions; Plan and facilitate cross-sector convenings to align vision and accelerate progress
- Synthesize & Communicate Impact-Develop reports, presentations, and briefing materials to influence decision-makers; Act as a connector across ASU, ASA, and key stakeholders to drive alignment and amplify impact
Work Arrangement:
This is an in-person position. Candidates must be able to commute to ASU campuses and across Maricopa County as needed.
This position is funded in whole or part by sources other than state appropriation and may terminate when funding is no longer available.

Working Environment:
- Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse; required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
- Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities, which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
- May be required to perform tasks across Educational Outreach and Student Services .
- Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
- Occasional virtual meetings, collaborative projects, and time-sensitive tasks will require responsiveness and regular communication with team members.
- This position will be issued a college-issued computer and other necessary equipment and software as needed.
Department Statement:
Educational Outreach and Student Services (EOSS) is committed to enrolling all qualified students at Arizona State University and assisting them in their academic success. EOSS provides a broad range of services and support to students and prospective students ranging from outreach efforts with K-12 schools, orientation programs for new freshman, bridge programs to assist the transition to a university environment, and a wide variety of services, programs and activities for enrolled students. EOSS has direct responsibility for multiple departments across four campuses, some of which include the Dean of Students, University Housing, Health Services, Counseling Services, Disability Resources, the Memorial Union, TRIO programs, Sun Devil Fitness, Student Government, Student Media, Career Services, Access ASU and others.
