Assistant Director of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity

The Assistant Director of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity assists the campus-wide academic integrity process in expanding its role as a tool for integrative learning. With a primary focus on adjudicating Honor Code cases, the Assistant Director also adjudicates Student Code of Conduct cases as well as provides leadership in promoting the Carolinian Creed. The Assistant Director oversees proactive and reactive programmatic efforts related to the Honor Code. Individually and in partnership with campus partners, the Assistant Director designs and implements prevention efforts to reduce high-rate violations.
Day to Day Responsibilities:· Help lead adjudication process and case management for students in Honor Code cases· Case management: triaging cases, tracking unheard cases, and addressing overdue sanctions· Collaborate with faculty to promote integrity in physical and online classrooms.· Develop programming addressing emerging issues like AI misuse.· Use assessment tools and Maxient analytics to improve learning outcomes and process efficiency.· Support the Carolina Judicial Council in promoting the Creed

Preferred Qualifications | Master’s degree in Student Services or related field. Experience in adjudicating student conduct and academic integrity cases. Experience with the Maxient electronic database. Experience presenting to large groups. Ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with students, staff, and faculty. Experience with developing and assessing learning outcomes. May graduates will be considered if they will be able to obtain their degree by the date of employment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities | Ability to identify problems and develop and implement realistic solutions. Able to analyze information and quantitative data, and apply that which is relevant in a positive and productive manner. Keep updated with topical issues regarding academic integrity and student conduct administration. Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Job Duties
Job Duty | Help lead the adjudication process and case management for students with Honor Code cases. Provide case management to an ongoing case load by triaging cases, tracking unheard cases, and addressing overdue sanctions: Assist in assigning cases; Serve as a resource for faculty and students about the Honor Code process; Coordinate the management of group academic integrity cases. Collect all information, create a spreadsheet layout to track case assignments, findings, sanctions, case info, etc. Serve as the point person for the faculty reporter on case progression.

Develop and deliver educational programming for faculty, students, and staff informed by current trends, including the use and misuse of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.

Coordinate events related to the Carolinian Creed with OSCAI staff and the CJC, and update the web presence on Creed initiatives.

Present to University 101 and other campus partners on topics including the Carolinian Creed, the Honor Code and Student Code of Conduct Collaborate with the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) to offer faculty professional development opportunities including the following: “Fostering Proactive Learning Environments” Certificate of Completion and elective sessions (including the semesterly management/scheduling), Oktoberbest, and New Faculty Orientation. Assist with training for University Housing, University 101, and other key constituent groups. Oversee communications for faculty discussing trends and timely topics through faculty newsletters and/or other recurring means of communication.
