Brief Job Description  | The Assistant Dean for Accreditation and Assessment in the School of Education and Applied Professions is responsible for leading accreditation steering committees for CAEP or other educator preparation accreditor (AAEQP), facilitating tasks related to accreditation for all programs in the Teacher Education Unit. The Asst. Dean will ensure that key program assessments and data are collected from all departments, especially those with specific accreditors, to document continuous program improvement. The Asst. Dean will chair the Assessment Committee of the Teacher Education Unit and lead the chairs and program directors to utilize sound assessment methodologies appropriate to their accreditors and their programmatic SLOs and monitor timely submission of accreditation documents. The Assistant Dean will advise the Deans of SEP and SAS on requirements of Educator Preparation Accreditation requirements.

Essential Responsibilities: Data Analysis and Reporting Deliver monthly assessment reports to Teacher Education Council on behalf of the TEU Assessment and Accreditation Committee; Write Annual Report for Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) or equivalent accreditor; Monitor status of program and unit level data needed for institutional report.  Membership and active participation on all relevant campus committees; Current assessment- related committees and regular monthly meetings include: Dean’s Department Chair Meetings Clinically Rich Practice Committee (monthly Teacher Education Council Meeting (monthly); TEU Professional Advisory Committee (four times annually); d) TEU Assessment and Accreditation Committee (monthly); TEU Recruitment and Retention Committee (monthly); e) Attend additional education and professional advisory council meetings (e.g., Exceptional Education Advisory Council) This is an internal search limited to full-time Buffalo State University faculty.
Required Qualifications  | Current full-time faculty with terminal degree in a discipline represented in the Teacher Education Unit; Evidence of teaching, scholarly/creative accomplishments, and service that merits appointment as tenured associate or full professor status; Leadership and administrative experience at the department or university level; Documented success in program assessment leadership and development
