| Primary Function of Organizational Unit | The School of Business offers the BS, BBA, and MBA degrees and is the University’s third largest academic unit. The School includes over 1,600 students and over 50 faculty and staff members. Degrees are offered in Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, and Hospitality and Tourism. It also houses a Department of Decision Sciences, Economics, and Finance that fosters critical programs of study and research. Students may choose to concentrate in entrepreneurship, financial analytics, human resource management, management, marketing, information communication and technology, data analytics, cybersecurity at the undergraduate level and hospitality management, real estate, supply chain strategic management and wealth management at the graduate level. |
| Primary Purpose of Position | The Assistant Dean reports directly to the Dean of the School of Business. Primary responsibilities include: (1) effective leadership of the School’s Assurance of Learning program across all degree programs and areas of concentration; (2) the effective leadership of compliance with specialized (AACSB) and regional (SACSCOC) accreditations, including annual internal and external academic program reporting, completing AACSB survey data, and coordinating AACSB accreditation requirements and reporting; (3) serving on the School’s leadership team to provide strategic and operational direction in support of the School’s mission and vision; (4) represent the Dean as necessary and perform other duties as assigned by the Dean. |

| Minimum Education/Experience | A Masters or doctoral degree preferably from an AACSB accredited college or university. A minimum of seven (7) years work experience in academic assessment of student learning. Preferably, a minimum of five (5) years teaching in higher education. Detailed knowledge of the AACSB Accreditation Continuous Improvement process and related standards. At least three Assessment/Accreditation training /conferences in the last five years. |

AACSB Accreditation: (1) Ensure that the Unit meets all timeline requirements; (2) Advise Dean, Associate Dean and Department Chairs on Accreditation policy and procedures; (3) Co-ordinate major accreditation deliverables including CIR Report – annually and for 5th year maintenance; CIR Application, Annual Surveys (Business School Questionnaire, Compensation and Demographics, Administrators, etc.); (4) Prepare and submit annual accreditation budget, (5) Attend minimum of one Accreditation-related seminar/conference annually. |

School of Business Assessment Programs: (1) Collaborate with Associate Dean and Assistant Dean/Director of Graduate Programs, and Department Chairs to ensure a robust process for planning, executing and reporting of student learning assessments; (2) Report the status of results to SOB faculty and staff semi-annually; (3) Collaborate with Associate Dean and Department Chairs to complete the Academic Affairs Annual Reports. |
