SALARY:
$195,500 to $244,400 per year. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose:
The Assistant Dean of Clinical Education for Resources & Curriculum is a principal administrator and leader of the MCOM academic program for the clinical years responsible for developing, managing, and improving the clinical curriculum, assessments and clinical rotation network. The Assistant Dean supports the Associate Dean in implementing the RVU-MCOM clinical curriculum and in meeting COCA accreditation standards. This position collaborates with other RVU programs and departments to align the curriculum across all years. This position is also responsible for the supervision and professional development of the employees within his/her reporting structure. The Assistant Dean assists the Associate Dean in facilitating and implementing clinical preceptor faculty development and recognition for the RVU-MCOM region. Job Functions:
- Provide leadership oversight, direction and guidance for planning, developing and implementing the MCOM clinical curriculum in collaboration with the Associate Dean, Clinical Education Data & Curriculum Manager, and Curriculum coordinator.
- Provide leadership to team in developing and maintaining positive relationships with community physicians and health care leaders in Montana and surrounding regions to increase and enhance clinical training opportunities for students.
- Provide leadership to team with regular feedback, assessments and performance evaluations.
- Assist in recruiting, developing, advancing and retaining faculty and staff.
- Help build a culture that respects, values, and promotes diversity by recruiting, hiring, and retaining diverse talent within an atmosphere of access, equity, and inclusion.
- Work collaboratively to develop and execute strategies to ensure that budgets, policies, and procedures are followed.
- Work collaboratively with leaders of other internal departments, institutions, and other stakeholders to ensure the mission of RVU and RVU-MCOM are met in accordance with our core values.
- Ensure relevant academic standards are met as per accreditation requirements of the American Osteopathic Association Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation.
- Serve as an active participant on committees or task forces or other duties as assigned by the Dean.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience specifically in regard to undergraduate
- medical education.
- Demonstrate knowledge of curriculum development, core competencies, Entrustable Professional Activities, and other medical educational milestones.
- Demonstrate time management and organizations skills while on-campus and off-campus during clinical site visit travels.
- Possess proficiency in negotiations and excellence in communication skills.
- Demonstrate proficiency and professionalism in video conferencing, speaking, and teaching.
Minimum Qualifications:
- MD/DO Degree from a COCA or LCME accredited medical school.
- MD/DO AOA or ABMS board certifications at some point in their career.
- MD/DO Unrestricted license at some time in their career, free from disciplinary actions or sanctions while licensed.
- Two (2)+ years of academic experience as faculty of a medical school or graduate medical education program.
- Three (3)+ years of academic leadership experience as a department chair, assistant or associate dean, Director of Medical Education, Designated Institutional Official, program director or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrations of professional organization involvement and leadership.
- Demonstrations of scholarly activity, research, service to public or profession.
