Assistant Director, Academic Success Innovation - College of Arts & Science Full Description

Position Summary:

The College of Arts & Science (CAS) is seeking a talented Assistant Director, Academic Success Innovation to join the team. This individual will lead initiatives that integrate the College’s and departmental academic success strategies supporting degree progress, academic access and engagement, and post-graduation opportunities, with a focus on interdisciplinary curricular interventions at the course, program, and College levels. Serve as an essential partner to academic departments in implementing and assessing immediate evidence-based academic success interventions reducing time to degree, increasing retention, supporting student engagement, and expanding global curricular pathways. Design and implement assessment strategies to ensure measurable outcomes of academic success interventions. Develop materials and best academic success strategies; produce workshops, resources, and collaborative opportunities to encourage academic success experimentation; and contribute to institutional reporting, accreditation reviews, and strategic planning initiatives. Recommend improvements and leverage technology to streamline development needs that emerge as the curriculum and student body evolve.

Qualifications:

Required Education:
Master's Degree in education, curriculum and instruction, or a related field.

Required Experience:
5+ years of experience in academic administration, curriculum design, or academic success initiatives.

Preferred Experience:
Experience assessing academic success interventions at the department or program level. Demonstrated record of fostering cross-departmental collaboration and building faculty partnerships preferred. Experience with faculty development programming or teaching in higher education.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrated knowledge of higher education, interdisciplinary curricular design and teaching principles, and/or assessment best practices. Experience supporting faculty in academic success efforts. Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with data analytics and assessment tools. Knowledge of evidence-based retention and degree completion practices, as well as familiarity with diverse and evolving student populations.

Additional Information:

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $73,500.00 to USD $83,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
