The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director, the Assistant Director serves as a key member of the Recruitment & Yield team within the Admissions department, to meet targeted enrollment goals for the School’s MBA, Executive MBA, Specialized Masters, PhD, and Deferred Enrollment programs, other future degree programs of the School, and the Mendelson Center for Undergraduate Business Initiatives. The incumbent will assist in coordinating the admissions process to enroll a high-quality, diverse student body that enhances the community and reputation of Columbia Business School.

Responsibilities
Student Recruitment & Yield Activities
  • Support the on-campus, virtual, and on the road recruitment and yield efforts for prospective and admitted students. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Conduct individual and small group meetings with candidates to ensure they have the guidance and support needed to apply.
Event Coordination and Marketing
  • Promote and market the School’s degree programs. Gain a thorough understanding of our programs. Represent the Columbia Business School brand and programs at events on campus, virtually, and on the road, and in written communication with prospective and admitted students. 
  • Deliver presentations, host receptions, and participate in other general activities as needed.
  • Manage events and communications in Slate.
Application Review & Admissions Committee
  • Read and evaluate applications, conduct interviews, and serve as a member of the Admissions Committee.
Relationship Management & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with faculty, administrators, current students, alumni and solicit their participation in Admissions recruiting and yield events. Serve as a point of contact for the approximately 200 admissions ambassadors in the Hermes Society.
Technology and Tools
  • Use tools such as MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Slate to manage the admissions and recruitment process. Leverage basic data analytics to support decision-making and improve the efficiency of admissions communication.
  • Perform other relevant duties as needed and assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 2-4 years of related professional experience required. 
  • Must have a demonstrated commitment to customer service and the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, have significant attention to detail, and excel in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Ability to balance independent delivery of work with collaborative orientation.
  • Candidate must possess strong skills in communication (verbal and written), diplomacy, tact, discretion, and outstanding interpersonal/relationship management.
  • Knowledge of, and experience using, technology and tools, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Slate; familiarity with CRM tools a plus. 
  • Basic data analytics capability. Must live within commuting distance to New York City and can work in person in a hybrid work environment.
  • Ability to travel (domestic and international) and work evenings and weekends is required.
