Assistant Director, Admissions Processing Full Description

Position Summary: This position serves as the chief staff member responsible for all supervising the shipping and receiving functions for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. He/she supervises the flow of incoming mail for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, including all applicant credentials and inquiries about admission to NYU. He/She: serves as the liaison between NYU and delivery personnel and mailing vendors; coordinates the receipt of all packages and delivered materials; coordinates the pick-up of mail with NYU Mail Services; and coordinates an orderly processing of all received packages and materials. The position works to ensure that all applicant credentials are processed accordingly and supervises a full-time and student staff of nearly 20 personnel assigned to open mail and process applicant credentials associated with roughly 50,000 annual applications for admission. He/she coordinates mailings for the Marketing, Communications, & Visitor Relations team - including the coordination of mailings to schools, community-based organizations, and especially young student inquiries. He/she also manages the inventory of all publications, mailing materials (e.g. letterhead, envelopes, etc.), equipment, and supplies needed to serve one of the largest independent university applicant pools in the United States.

Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination. Experience managing processing functions at a high volume capacity.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to communicate with a diverse population verbally and in writing. Ability to supervise staff. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software. Ability to thrive in a high volume organization with critical deadlines.

Additional Information: In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $84,700.00.
