Position Overview
The Assistant Director of Annual Giving plays a key role in advancing the University of Idaho Foundation’s Annual Giving program with primary responsibility for digital fundraising, crowdfunding and participation-based philanthropy initiatives to grow engagement and philanthropic support among University of Idaho alumni and friends.

Working across digital platforms, including web, email, social media and phone, the Assistant Director creates and implements targeted solicitations and campaigns that drive engagement and complement the strategy and direction set by the Director of Annual Giving. This role is critical in building the donor pipeline, strengthening annual fundraising performance and expanding philanthropy across the university.

Duties may include:
  • Lead the development and implementation of crowdfunding campaigns sponsored by campus clubs, other student groups, campus partners and organizations
  • Develop and manage digital annual giving campaigns designed to increase donor acquisition, retention, reactivation and donor upgrades
  • Provide consultation and guidance to campus partners regarding digital fundraising strategy, donor engagement best practices and annual giving campaign effectiveness
  • Serve as the operational lead for Vandal Giving Day, including ambassador engagement, participation strategies, student outreach, digital engagement and performance monitoring
  • Support stewardship and donor experience strategies that enhance engagement and long-term giving behavior
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners, including marketing and communications staff, student employees and vendors, to execute integrated annual giving initiatives
  • May supervise student employees, student organizations and select vendor relationships supporting Annual Giving initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications
Required Experience
  • Two years’ experience in higher education, corporate or nonprofit environment
  • Managing multiple projects and competing priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, using proper grammar and punctuation as demonstrated in application materials

  • Ability to work nonstandard business hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university-owned vehicles
