Assistant Director Financial Aid Full Description

Job Summary:

The Assistant Director Financial Aid is responsible for managing loan programs by certifying, originating, and delivering of over $50 million annually in educational loans.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

1. Manages all federal, state and institutional loan programs by making decisions related to applicable business processes, funding issues, system requirements and regulatory constraints.
2. Accomplishes staff job results by supervising, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and appraising jobs results.
3. Coordinates loan application and delivery system by overseeing data exchange processes with guarantor, leaders, and students.
4. Coordinates borrower notification of rights and responsibilities by creating and monitoring communications regarding applications status and fund disbursement.
5. Approves system status by testing upgrades and patches, determining best practices and approving enhancements.
6. Ensures customers are receiving the best loan options available by liaisons with lending and servicing partners, and making decisions regarding preferred lenders.
7. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent in experience.
• 2 years of office experience or a related environment providing customer service and program management and staff supervision.
