Position Summary:
The Assistant Director will coordinate with the Department to establish the processes and strategies needed to support current and emerging activities, specifically managing all aspects of marketing, communication, and event planning. Manage and coordinate all aspects of in-person, hybrid, and virtual events from concept through to ideation and event execution. Plan small to large-scale events such as conferences, seminars, symposia, and workshops, as well as advise on ideas for events, catering options, space, and staffing needs. Manage event budgets and provide financial oversight. Assess and recommend changes to existing protocols to optimize efficiency. Develop and implement a communication strategy to keep all stakeholders updated in all aspects of the Department’s work. Manage and maintain multiple websites and social media platforms to reflect the latest activity in each respective domain. Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders both locally and internationally. International travel may occasionally be required.

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in related field
Required Experience:
5+ years Relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include prior experience in events management, marketing, creative design, and/or communications.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior level leadership and to work well with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage complex projects. Ability to solve problems and interact with individuals at all levels. Familiarity with website creation and maintenance. Willingness and eagerness to remain agile and flexible, taking on new projects on an ongoing basis.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity with Korean culture and language, or familiarity with Arabic language. Previous experience working in more than one sector, i.e. academia and industry, or government and academia, etc.
Additional Information:
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $90,000.00 to USD $110,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
