Description
Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Operations, the Assistant Director, Integrated Learning leads the Integrated Learning (IL) team and works with assistant and associate deans, course directors and faculty, and data and analytics staff to oversee the coordination and administration of the curriculum. Primary responsibilities include planning, organizing, staffing, and leading First 100 Weeks (F100W) educational program activities, as well as other curriculum elements as assigned to the IL team by Zucker School of Medicine (ZSOM) leadership. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Oversees the daily operations of the IL team, ensuring efficiency, resource alignment, and consistency with ZSOM goals through effective systems management and process improvement. Leads and supervises the IL team by applying comprehensive program knowledge, providing training, coaching, performance monitoring, and fostering professional development to promote critical thinking, accountability, and individual and team growth. Leads onboarding and orientation of new staff, creating individualized onboarding plans, monitoring progress, and ensuring compliance with ZSOM policies and procedures. Develops systematic approaches and new initiatives to support program implementation and the strategic direction of the assigned curriculum elements through clear metrics and goals that drive continuous improvement. Directs academic scheduling and logistics, including room reservations, resource deployment, resolution of scheduling conflicts, and coordination of sessions in collaboration with course directors and other ZSOM operational teams. Leads and coordinates administrative support and services for educational program delivery, special projects, and academic initiatives, while also evaluating new initiatives to ensure appropriate staffing. Provides high-level contributions to the development and optimization of educational technology platforms, data systems, and workflow processes. Independently manages individual responsibilities in support of IL team operations, including Core Learning and other assigned program components, while overseeing team workload and performance. Leads special projects assigned by the Assistant Dean for Operations and ZSOM leadership. Coordinates and supports assigned meetings with course directors, faculty, and academic leaders by preparing agendas, tracking discussion topics, distributing minutes, and ensuring follow-up on action items. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. At least five (5) years of relevant experience in higher education or a related health professions field, with a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. Must have above-average organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be customer service oriented and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work independently and track multiple active elements of the curriculum simultaneously. Must be able to work in a high-traffic office environment. Must be able to lift 15 pounds for sessions, as needed. Must have extensive computing experience and demonstrate proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must be able to provide own transportation to and from offsite sessions and meetings. This position requires a flexible work schedule, including early mornings, late evenings and/or occasional weekends to support extended student services.
Preferred Qualifications | Master’s degree in higher education, health administration, business administration, or a related field preferred.

Salary/Salary Range | $82,000 - $87,000

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
