Advertising/Posting Title  | Assistant Director of Assignments and Occupancy Management
Posting Summary  | Reporting to the Associate Director of Housing Operations, this position provides management and leadership for all housing-related processes that support the student experience. As an integral member of the Housing Operations Unit leadership team, this role oversees housing systems within the Department of Residential Life, including regular academic year housing and summer academic housing. Supervision responsibilities include the Coordinator of Housing and the Coordinator of Housing Operational Systems. The Assistant Director enhances residential operations by managing the housing system, StarRez, encompassing database functions, housing processes, billing, and integrations with other enterprise databases on campus. Additionally, the position supports operational processes such as new and returning student move-in, room selection, and administrative room changes.

Throughout the year, the Assistant Director collaborates with the Director of Residential Life on strategic initiatives that support the department’s vision, leadership, and philosophy of residential life.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)  | Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education/Student Affairs, or a related field with five years of related experience. Demonstrated experience managing StarRez or similar housing management systems. Experience working cross-functionally within campus housing and dining operations, including logistics for move-in, orientation, and special housing populations. Strong strategic planning skills related to marketing, communication, and occupancy management. Experience supervising and training staff. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant internet tools. Strong troubleshooting abilities, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering a collaborative multicultural environment. Ability to build and maintain campus partnerships and provide excellent customer service to students and families. Knowledge of housing policies and the ability to implement and enforce them effectively. Experience with assessment strategies related to program effectiveness, occupancy trends, and student satisfaction.
