The Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions plays a key role in shaping and advancing graduate enrollment at the University of Vermont (UVM) by connecting prospective students with the university’s diverse portfolio of graduate programs. This position serves as both a strategist and ambassador, leveraging admissions data, managing applicant pipelines, and guiding prospective students from initial inquiry through enrollment.

Working closely with campus partners, the Assistant Director develops and implements innovative, student-centered recruitment strategies designed to attract highly qualified graduate candidates across disciplines. The role also represents UVM at off-campus recruitment events, building meaningful relationships with prospective students, partners, and stakeholders while strengthening the university’s visibility and reputation in the graduate education landscape.

Through a combination of data-informed decision-making, proactive engagement, and relationship-building, this role directly contributes to advancing UVM’s graduate enrollment goals and supporting the university’s broader academic mission.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated multicultural competency and a commitment to recruit a diverse student population
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Basic computing skills (word processing, spreadsheet, database, and familiarity with relational student databases)
Desirable Qualifications
Anticipated Pay Range $53,000-$55,000

Ability to travel outside Vermont, including internationally, required.
