Job Summary  | The Assistant Director of Scholarships will provide scholarship assistance to students and support to academic units awarding scholarships through Mav ScholarShop; act as departmental liaison regarding graduate fellowships and assistantships; supervise 2 full time staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities  | Actively participate in awarding UTA scholarships through Mav ScholarShop. Serve in a support role in setting up the scholarships, trouble shooting issues, being a liaison between UTA and the software company, providing training and support to academic units across campus and to students regarding the use of the site. Process graduate assistantship/fellowship information through MyMav and work with the departments and accounting as needed. Process graduate fellowship awards in MyMav including need based programs including STEM and GAANN. Supervise full-time staff (1-2). Manage SharePoint. Work with office staff to stay within 10 days or less to process requests, work with OIT to problem solve. Be a member of the Scholarship Committee to review appeals. Process item type set up requests. Manage State Programs. Assist with outreach events as appropriate. Performs other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree in communications, education or related field. Four (4) years of administering federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs experience or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role.
Preferred Qualifications  | Experience using PeopleSoft campus solutions or other automated student information systems. Knowledge of federal and state need based financial aid programs and regulations. Experience with programs targeted toward graduate students such as STEM and GANN. Knowledge of scholarship management systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  | Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, staff, and others.
