Job Summary  | This position serves as the project manager for the annual University Commencement Ceremony in the Spring, as well as the majority of university-wide annual events. This position provides event support for all University Events and other presidential and development events as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience  | Bachelor’s degree in related field and three plus years relevant professional experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience  | Bachelor’s Degree Minimum of four years of experience in event planning and coordination Experience in a university, education, or non-profit environment preferred. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures of event planning. Excellent interpersonal skills as a team player; an active listener; at ease with a wide range of donors, University constituents, and backgrounds.Desire to work in a service-oriented environment. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Flexible to work evenings and weekends, as needed, in support of events. Proven abilities to handle discreet and confidential information. Proven abilities in organizational, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills; strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills essential. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment. Ability to work both independently and as a team player.

Other Qualifications  | To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  | Strategize with University Leadership to review and plan for annual university-wide events and serve as project manager for the same. Manage all logistics for venues, vendors, and participants. Update constituents, both on and off-campus, on planning. Direct team of on and off-campus partners to ensure that all logistical elements are managed in a timely, efficient manner. Create event budgets and expense summaries and submit to Senior Director for review. Provide event support for other team members’ events as needed

Additional Information  | Remote Work Notice:
Hybrid remote work environment available and a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement is required upon employment. Use of personal computer and other standard office equipment may be required. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice.
