  | Quinnipiac University is seeking an innovative and strategic Assistant Provost for Data Strategy and Director of Institutional Effectiveness to transform how the University uses data to understand performance, inform decisions, and shape its future.This is an opportunity to build a next-generation institutional effectiveness and data strategy function—one that moves beyond traditional reporting to deliver timely, actionable insight to leaders across the University. Reporting to the Vice President for Academic Innovation & Effectiveness, the Assistant Provost will lead an integrated enterprise of institutional research, data strategy, analytics, reporting, assessment, and decision support.As the University's senior operational leader for institutional effectiveness, you will partner with academic and administrative leaders to strengthen the University's ability to turn complex data into meaningful insight. You will help reduce manual reporting, accelerate the path from question to answer, expand responsible self-service analytics, and establish institutional intelligence as a strategic asset.Working closely with the Vice President for Academic Innovation & Effectiveness and campus leadership, you will provide leadership for university-wide data strategy and help ensure that institutional data and evidence are aligned with Quinnipiac's strategic priorities.

Responsibilities: | Lead the combined Institutional Research and Assessment functions, ensuring excellence in institutional data, analytics, and evidence-based academic practices. Responsibilities include:All official institutional reporting to federal and state agencies, accreditors, and ranking organizations, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and consistencyProviding university, school and departmental leadership with comprehensive, useful and informative institutional data that assists them in decision-making, planning, evaluation, operational and strategic initiatives and accreditationCollection, analysis and visualization of data for ongoing assessment of institutional performance against agreed upon benchmarksComprehensive analyses of enrollment, retention, graduation, and student success to inform institutional strategySurvey research, benchmarking, and institutional effectiveness studies (e.g., NSSE and internal instruments)Assessment of student learning, including academic program review, general education, high-impact practices, and online learningPredictive modeling and analytics to support student success and institutional planningSupport for school-and program-level assessment practices, enabling actionable, evidence-based curricular innovationAlignment between assessment activities and accreditation expectationsBenchmark reports and peer comparisonsFulfillment of ad hoc data reports, e.g., for grants, accreditation, etc

Oversee the development and effective use of institutional data infrastructure and analytics tools, including:Institutional dashboards and business intelligence tools that support decision-making at all levelsData definitions, governance, and standards to ensure consistency, integrity, and usability of institutional dataTraining and capacity-building initiatives that empower faculty and administrators to use data to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of academic operationsDrive adoption of AI and emerging technologies to create greater automation, efficiency and advanced insights in data reporting and analyticsMaintain deep expertise in evolving reporting standards and national/global ranking methodologies and proactively assess institutional implicationsBuild cross-functional partnerships with information services, admissions and financial aid, finance, academic budgets and resource planning, and units across academic affairsSupervise two staff in institutional research and learning assessment

Education Requirements: | Doctoral degree in higher education, data science, social science, or related field
