Position Summary:
Yeshiva University seeks an Assistant Vice President, Engagement Strategy, to serve as a member of the Institutional Advancement’s senior leadership team, providing strategic direction and management of the University’s alumni relations and annual giving programs, as well as advancement communications and fundraising events. Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement, this role works with University and department partners to advance YU’s strategic priorities through these engagement efforts.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide strategic oversight and direction for the departments’ large-scale engagement efforts, including alumni relations, annual giving campaigns, fundraising communications and donor eventsManage the teams focused on these areas, ensuring through mentorship, support, tools and clear direction that they are establishing goals, meeting defined expectations and evaluating programs and engagement effortsHelp define a strategic plan with the Alumni Engagement director and team to develop new opportunities and programs, working with deans and directors to meet the needs of and engage with different alumni constituent groupsProvide oversight and management for all department events, including alumni engagement, reunions, donor and stewardship eventsDevelop and guide the overall strategy and direction for the annual giving program, which includes direct mail, electronic solicitation, Giving Day, and student call center, with the goal of growing the reach and results of the programOversee the development communications teams to create and execute a plan to effectively communicate with alumni and donors through a variety of channels, including annual campaigns, donor proposals, stewardship reports and marketing materialsServe as a member of the department’s senior leadership team, collaborating closely with the AVP of Development & Campaigns and the AVP of Advancement Operations to create a holistic, unified strategy across the departmentWork closely with the data analytics team to establish a systematic and consistent approach to utilizing data to best support and inform engagement effortsCreate mechanisms and means for assessing quality and impact of programs and campaignsCollaborates with the University leadership, deans and faculty to develop alumni programming and annual giving plans to support academic and University priorities
Experience & Educational Background:
Higher Education fundraising experience preferredTen or more years of progressively responsible experience, with demonstrated understanding and knowledge of best practices for complex fundraising organizationsPreference to candidates with annual giving experienceExperience managing and supporting teams, with an ability to motivate and support individuals’ goalsThorough knowledge of best practices and strategies for the operation of successful alumni and annual giving programsThe intelligence, maturity, and sound judgment necessary for interacting with donors, alumni, trustees, administrative and academic leadership, faculty, and staffFamiliarity with fundraising systems and strong command of MS Office Suite of products
Salary Range: | $180,000 - $200,000
