Job Description
Reynolds is one of the largest community colleges in Virginia and serves Virginia’s capital city and five nearby counties. Annually, our four campus sites serve approximately 13,000 credit students and provide training for 7,400 students through the Community College Workforce Alliance.

The Associate Dean supports the overall leadership and administrative operation of the School of STEM by overseeing academic programs, supporting faculty and department chairs, managing key operational functions, coordinating assessment and accreditation activities, and contributing to strategic planning. The position assists the Dean with implementing academic policies, resolving instructional issues, supporting enrollment management efforts, and strengthening relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The Associate Dean ensures the delivery of high-quality educational experiences and contributes to an inclusive, collaborative, and student-focused environment.
Special Assignments | May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications | Master’s degree in a STEM field, STEM education, higher education administration, or related discipline. Experience in academic leadership, faculty development, or program coordination. Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, or evaluate faculty effectively. Experience in analyzing data and making evidence-based recommendations. Experience supporting workforce programs, transfer pathways, or industry partnerships. Demonstrated ability in managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing needs.
Additional Considerations | Leadership experience in STEM workforce or related field. Experience overseeing program accreditation or specialized certification processes. Knowledge of curriculum development, assessment, accreditation, and academic policy. Experience facilitating professional development. Administrative, leadership or teaching experience in higher education.
