Job Summary  | David Eccles School of Business Office of Alumni Relations and Development seeks a dynamic frontline fundraiser with 2-5 years of experience in philanthropy who excels at building and maintaining excellent relationships. This position will report to the Senior Director of Development. The Assistant Director of Development will focus on soliciting major gifts, write proposals, discover & qualify new prospective donors, and craft meaningful stewardship plans. This team is fast-paced, collaborative, and impact-driven. Our strategic priority is to strengthen the Eccles School’s donor pipeline, raise funds for top priorities, and develop long-term relationships to build a strong foundation for future support. This position will be part of a talented team of fundraisers and is an excellent opportunity for professionals to work collaboratively and grow their career.

Responsibilities 
• Serve as a frontline fundraiser responsible making direct solicitations through face-to-face interactions as well as discovering and qualifying prospective donors and ensuring meaningful donor stewardship.
• Manage a portfolio and schedule 12-15 meetings per month with prospects, donors, and alumni.
• Meet or exceed annual fundraising KPIs
• Develop donor solicitation strategies, write proposals to alumni, donors, foundations, and companies.
• Secure sponsorships for a variety of events that support the Eccles School’s overall fundraising efforts.
• Travel to regional markets to grow alumni engagement and develop donor support nationally.
• Communicate persuasively about the Eccles School’s programs, students, and major initiatives.
• Track and maintain donor records and relationships.
• Represent the David Eccles School of Business at appropriate University activities and events.
• Work effectively in a highly motivated team environment.

Minimum Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, a related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required; plus six years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communication skills also required. Master’s degree in Business Administration or related area preferred. This position is not responsible for providing patient care. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

Preferences  | Excellent at relationship-building skills, communication, and active listening required. Philanthropic fundraising experience, including face-to-face solicitations, grant/proposal writing, and a successful track record of raising donations is required. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. High ethical standards, discretion, and confidentiality in working with donor information. Experience which CRM database preferred.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, or a related area and demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills required.
