Associate Administrative Assistant Full Description

Join Purdue University Fort Wayne: 
We are currently seeking a full-time on-site Associate Administrative Assistant (39202) in our School of Music. The Administrative Assistant serves as a front-line resource for the School of Music’s students, faculty, staff, and the general public. This position’s hourly wage starts at $14.50.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to the department’s faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
  • Direct calls and provide information about schedules, programs, courses, etc.
  • Communicate information from the chair and department.
  • Prepare and print programs; distribute and collect recital forms.
  • Maintain instrument inventory and instrument check-out lists.
  • Manage student locker assignments and assist with access to locked facilities.
  • Maintain office equipment and order office supplies when needed.
  • Assist faculty and advisors with schedules and information for classes, textbook orders, work orders, and the course evaluation process.
  • Schedule and reserve rooms for all department recitals, concerts, classes, and lessons.
  • Register students into the student information system and assist them with registration questions.
  • Organize and maintain files for new and continuing students.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
Required Qualifications:
  • A High School diploma or GED.
  • 0-1 year of work experience in an administrative support, clerical, or customer service role.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
