The Role in Brief:
Associate Data Engineer
Their primary responsibility is to develop and deploy data services, inclusive of BI tools, integrations, reports, amongst other data configuration procedures between client IT systems and EAB technology. In addition, they work collectively with other EAB project and product development staff to implement data pipelines, manage projects and relationships with partners, set and execute against project milestones, and perform at the highest standards of quality, client satisfaction, and engagement throughout the implementation lifecycle.
This role may be based in Richmond, VA or Washington, D.C.  

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conceptualize, develop and deploy data extraction procedures working collaboratively with partners
  • Develop recommendations for internal leadership around preferred data integration methodologies
  • Ensure barriers to timely completion of Data Integration Services projects are anticipated and overcome
  • Work effectively with internal and external project managers to ensure timely delivery of implementation
  • Encapsulate findings through new product integration exercises for the overall benefit of EAB data integration effort
  • Build and foster strong relationships with all levels of technical and non-technical staff at client institutions
  • Proactively identify, recognize, and act on opportunities for improvement in order to advance business goals.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  •  0-1+ years’ experience extracting data from a variety of platforms, performing data mapping, data transformation, and loading data to the target system
  • Client facing experience implementing software solutions
  •  Fluency in SQL skills
  • Experience managing multiple clients/projects/stakeholders simultaneously
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a project owner including managing communication progress to stake holders, risk identification and mitigation and facilitating problem solving
  • Proven ability to communicate ideas and obtain buy-in
  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% domestically

Ideal Qualifications:
  • Basic working knowledge of cloud operations, especially in AWS
  • Basic working knowledge of network engineering, especially SaaS and hybrid (SaaS/on-premise) architecture
  • 1-3 years in higher education admissions data operations
  • 0-1+ years’ experience extracting and transforming data using Python pandas

Compensation:
The anticipated starting salary range for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 per year. Actual salary varies due to factors that may include but not be limited to relevant experience, skills, and location. At EAB, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the starting salary range for their role.
