Associate Director, AP Graphics Full Description

College Board's Advanced Placement and Instruction division develops and administers coursework taken by more than 3 million students worldwide each year, including Advanced Placement (AP) and Pre-AP courses across 40+ disciplines.

The Associate Director, AP Graphics produces exam and instructional graphics across the full AP course portfolio in a fully remote or hybrid two-year term role, adapting quickly to unfamiliar content and shifting priorities as coverage needs require.

Responsibilities
  • Handles day-to-day graphic requests across multiple assigned AP courses based on shifting production priorities.
  • Produces technical vector graphics, maps, and illustrations per established AP Graphics standards.
  • Maintains brand and accessibility consistency across digital, hybrid, and paper exam and instructional formats.
  • Communicates directly with content experts and production colleagues to resolve requests and design issues.
  • Contributes to and helps maintain shared asset libraries, templates, and documentation across courses.
  • Engages in troubleshooting for technical issues and workflow questions within assigned scope.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional technical art, graphic design, and/or illustration experience, with a portfolio demonstrating vector graphic skills.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop; familiarity with InDesign is a plus.
  • Familiarity with graphics industry conventions for digital display and print, including resolution, file formats, and color modes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Illustration, or a related field.
  • Hiring range of $56,000-$90,000, with the ability to travel 2-4 times a year for College Board business.
