Position Summary
The Associate Director, Daniels Student Success Center Advising Operations and Academic Planning leads the operational infrastructure supporting student progression, academic planning, course management, and degree completion across undergraduate and graduate populations, including enrollment trend analysis, course demand tracking, student records processes, degree audit functions, scheduling coordination, and data reporting. The Associate Director serves as a key operational partner to academic departments, faculty, the Registrar's Office, Office of Graduate Education, and Alumni Engagement, and maintains a minimal academic advising caseload to stay aligned with the student experience. The role supervises the Student Success Center Scheduling Manager and the Microsoft Office Suite Program Coordinator.
Essential Functions
Academic Planning, Enrollment, and Course Management:
- Track course enrollment demand to ensure Daniels offers the appropriate number of business core sections each quarter
- Partner with the Senior Director of Advising and Engagement, Scheduling Manager, faculty, and departments to ensure accurate quarterly schedules
- Supervise the Microsoft Office Suite Coordinator on business core curriculum delivery
- Assist with degree and curriculum changes, including updates, approvals, and Bulletin submissions
Student Records, Degree Audit, and Graduation Processes:
- Audit student degree progress and degree completion requirements
- Conduct preliminary graduation reviews and certify degrees for EMBA and graduate populations
- Ensure courses are correctly applied in degree audits for financial aid, VA benefits, and graduation clearance
- Update student records in Banner including graduation applications, concentrations, and cohort codes
Reporting, Data Analysis, and Student Progression:
- Generate, analyze, and distribute key reports supporting advising, retention, and academic operations
- Collect and analyze year-over-year retention data to support targeted outreach
- Generate quarterly Academic Deficiency reports and share with advisors for outreach
- Maintain and develop databases using tools such as Excel and Airtable
Dual Degree Oversight:
- Oversee and monitor student progress through dual degree and dual undergraduate-graduate degree programs
- Manage approvals, updates, and related curriculum or Bulletin changes for dual degree programs
Quarterly Graduation and Academic Hood / Beta Gamma Sigma Ceremonies:
- Generate and verify student lists with departments for Quarterly Academic Hood and Beta Gamma Sigma
- Determine qualified students each quarter based on GPA eligibility and submit to the Beta Gamma Sigma Chapter portal
Operations, Systems, and Supervision:
- Lead advising-related systems, administrative workflows, and student/course management processes
- Supervise the Student Success Center Scheduling Manager and the MOS Coordinator
- Manage review and approval of non-degree student course requests through Slate
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience in academic operations, registrar functions, scheduling, advising systems, student records, or program administration
- Experience managing and building databases
- Strong analytical, organizational, and process management skills
- Experience using Excel, Airtable, Banner, Slate, or similar student information/database systems preferred
- Program management certification preferred
- Master's degree preferred in Higher Education, Business, or a related field
Work Schedule and Compensation
- Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm; evenings and weekends as needed; eligible for partial remote work under the University's flexible work policy
- Salary grade 10; salary range $68,000-$75,000
