Job Description Summary:
We are looking for an Associate Director of Product to join our team. This person will lead development of our designated English Language Development (ELD) 6–8 program. The role is responsible for setting product strategy, providing thought leadership in defining product vision, prioritizing requirements, and executing on meaningful products that drive literacy and secondary language development, student engagement, and support teacher effectiveness.
The Associate Director works closely with the Associate Vice President of ELA curriculum, the Executive Director of Content, and the VP of ELA Education 6–12 to ensure the timely development of our ELD program, translating vision into concrete deliverables. The Associate Director also takes a leading role in overseeing the adherence to the California Adoption framework for Program 2.
The right candidate is excited about the potential of refreshing our previous designated ELD program, the promise of AI for efficient product development, and the challenge of meeting the California criteria on an accelerated timeline. Essential Responsibilities:
Project Leadership and Vision – Evolve and execute on strategic vision for the standalone ELD curriculum in alignment with the in flight 3rd edition ELA curriculum. Establish clear goals, timelines, and deliverables for the project, ensuring they align with organizational objectives and the accelerated timeline. Facilitate and promote a shared understanding of the project’s vision and objectives across all involved teams and stakeholders.
Team Coordination and Management - Coordinate efforts of cross-functional teams including content writers, digital producers, designers, and interaction developers, ensuring cohesive collaboration. Lead regular team meetings for project updates, feedback, and alignment on objectives.Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages creativity and quality. Monitor project progress and recommend scoping adjustments as necessary to keep the project on track.
Content and Curriculum Design – Collaborate with the AI team to leverage AI in content creation, ensuring a scalable process that leads to quality output. Collaborate with content leadership to ensure the curriculum meets criteria for the California adoption framework Ca market needs and effectively supports ELD learners. Leverage AI tools to innovate our practices, in service of both more efficient development and increasing product quality/impact.
Stakeholder Communication - Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular progress updates and seeking their feedback and input. Communicate project status, challenges, and successes clearly and effectively to senior leadership and other stakeholders. Ensure alignment of all stakeholders on project goals, timelines, and outcomes.
Quality Assurance and Evaluation – Establish criteria and processes for evaluating the quality and efficacy of the curriculum throughout its development. Coordinate feedback gathering. Ensure the final product meets high standards of quality, usability, and educational impact.
Champion of our users – Become familiar with product users and act as the voice of the customer (internal and external) in the product development process - know what makes them happy and what data allows them to support and drive outcomes in the classroom and across Amplify. Meet with internal users to understand their needs, processes, and challenges - sales and marketing teams, spend time with teachers, students and administrators. Conduct market research and use that information to evolve the products to best meet the needs of our users, arrive at product market fit, and reach our ambitious reach, revenue, and impact goals. Identify and prioritize questions to answer with data, setting up the appropriate practices to support it.
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years of operational product management and cross functional experience with a bachelors degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- 3+ years experience managing teams
- Experience building consumer-facing technology products
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful partnering with a diverse range of stakeholders to create focus and deliver complex systems and products in an ever-evolving environment
- Expertise/experience in English language acquisition, education for ELLs, or secondary literacy
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to create and maintain focus on key outcome
What we offer:

The gross salary for this role is $130,000.
