Advertising/Posting Title  | Associate Director for Student Involvement
Posting Summary  | Provide operational and administrative leadership for the mission, vision, and long-term planning of student involvement. As a member of the departmental leadership team, the Associate Director is responsible for oversight of Student Involvement’s program areas including Campus Programs, Outdoor Programs, Civic Engagement, and Fraternity & Sorority Life. Hire, train, and supervise staff in programmatic areas. Develop, implement, and assess a comprehensive student leadership development program. Oversee departmental assessment efforts. Responsible for management of departmental budgets. Serve on campus committees and build partnerships and collaborations with campus partners. Lead campus-wide efforts to create comprehensive programming to serve all students. Responsible for supporting the mission and philosophy of the Department of Student Life, the Division of Student Affairs, and the University of Vermont.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)  | Master’s degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or similar, and three to five years experience in student services, programming, or other related field. Demonstrated supervisory experience including training, coaching and mentoring. Experience and demonstrated skill in management and planning. Ability to articulate a philosophy of education based on experiential education and co-curricular learning required. Ability to represent the University in public forums on and off campus required. Ability to be creative, collaborative, resourceful, tolerant of ambiguity and to mediate conflict required. Demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence.
