Description  | Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the Associate Director of Data Analysis and Reporting will provide operational support to the Offices of Financial Aid, Student Financial Services, and various departments within the division and the institution in the overall planning, management, and execution of strategic departmental and institutional financial aid goals. Candidates must be able to organize and handle all aspects of administration and adhere to the rules and regulations of Hofstra University, the Coastal Athletic Conference and the NCAA. Additional hours, evenings and weekends, will be required in support of special projects and events. This is an on-site, in-person position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Conducts analysis and prepares presentations of data and statistics related to financial aid and other strategic areas of the University. Creates and maintains various reports utilizing Ellucian Banner and Microsoft Access. Prepares ad hoc internal data reports and analyses as requested. Completes institutional surveys and responds to data requests from external organizations in a timely and accurate manner. Develops new initiatives and innovative methods that address processing efficiencies. Assures processes are in place to guarantee data integrity. Assists with outreach efforts on campus. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications  | Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience of data reporting/data analysis. Prior experience in creating, writing, importing and querying databases using MS Access. Proficient in complete Microsoft Office suite of applications and capability of using Microsoft Excel to present data in tables and charts. Knowledge of Oracle; SQL; or other report writing software. Detail-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal, time management and organizational skills. Possess strong skills in organizational management and task completion, as well as the ability to multi-task while working independently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently, accurately, and to collaborate as appropriate. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Preferred Qualifications  | Educational background in computer science, data science or statistics preferred. Experience with any of the following are a plus: Student Information Systems, preferably Ellucian Banner; digital document management systems; Slate; Tableau; or Snowflake.
