Position Overview | This position is responsible for the supervision of financial aid counselors and works with the Director of Financial Aid to plan, implement and evaluate activities in the Student Financial Aid office to ensure program integrity and delivery of services. Additionally, this position is responsible for daily coordination and supervision of daily processes as well as overseeing the awarding and disbursement of federal, state and institutional student financial assistance funding. It is also responsible for creating and maintaining written policies and procedures used by financial aid counselors to award and disburse financial aid funds to students. This position will also support financial aid reporting and frontline customer service scheduling.

Required Experience | Five years’ experience in student financial assistance at a professional level Previous supervisory experience in a professional setting

Additional Preferred | Master’s degree NASFAA Credentials or FAA Certification Experience in supervising full-time staff in a student financial aid office in higher education Experience as a director, associate director, assistant director, or counselor/advisor in a student financial aid office in a large institution Demonstrated strong organizational skills Ability to communicate effectively, maintain professional rapport with staff and students, while effectively leading and organizing team members
