Required Qualifications: Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.  | Master’s or equivalent degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field. Three (3) to five (5) years of progressive full-time experience in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or specific area(s) described in this position description. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience supervising full-time or graduate staff in a higher education setting. Three (3) to five (5) years of experience with program development and oversight including large-scale campus programming. Proficiency in using software and technology for program management, data analysis, and communication (e.g. Microsoft Office, presentation software). Proven organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Knowledge of leadership theories and practices, as well as service-learning principles. Ability to coordinate a variety of work activities and work as part of a team. Experience creating and executing onboarding and continuous training components for student and professional staff in a university setting. Experience building partnerships and collaborating across departments in a university setting. Availability to work nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications  | Doctorate in higher education, student affairs, or a related field. Familiarity with policy and procedural development related to student organizations and engagement activities. Experience with student engagement platforms, CRM systems, and other technology used to enhance communication and program management. Experience with the development of training and development opportunities for student organizations and leadership development.
Job Description  | Build, support, and sustain a campus-wide culture that centers student involvement and engagement as key to student success with area of responsibility including: campus programming, student organization administration and development, leadership
education, service-based activities, student organization conduct and risk management education.
Job Duties  | Serve as a member of the departmental leadership team in making decisions, developing goals, and strategic direction for the department and act as lead in the absence of the Executive Director. Lead the development of innovative strategies to increase student engagement and participation across various demographics and populations. Utilize data and feedback to assess the impact of programs and identify areas for improvement and growth. Foster strong relationships with campus and community stakeholders, including academic departments and community organizations. Chair and convene regular meetings of the SI&E Campus and Community Partners Group. Serve as co-chair and convene regular meetings of the SI&E department’s Homecoming Planning Team. Coordinate the department’s participation in New Student Orientation programs and Bobcat Welcome Week. Develop goals and student learning outcomes for designated programs and services, and the assessment of these goals and outcomes. Manage unit assessment efforts to inform decision-making in line with divisional and departmental priorities. Develop and implement risk management and safety plans for campus events and activities. Maintain, in coordination with the Operations and Assessment unit, comprehensive and up-to-date program and service webpages. Support the Student Involvement and Engagement portfolio and Division of Student Success in developing greater visibility for student activities and student organizations. Provide leadership, supervision, and professional development support for two (2) Senior Coordinators and an administrative assistant. The Senior Coordinators collectively supervise six (4) coordinators and three (2) graduate assistants. Mentor student employees and student leaders, fostering leadership skills and promoting a positive campus culture. Provide strategic leadership, in collaboration with faculty, staff, and student leaders, in the development and implementation of involvement and engagement initiatives to cultivate a vibrant campus culture that encourages participation in co-curricular activities. Oversee the development and execution of campus-wide events that promote student engagement and showcase student involvement (i.e. student organization fairs, welcome week events, and homecoming events). Lead the planning and execution of SI&E signature events (i.e. Homecoming, River Fest) and provide guidance for the entire department’s programming portfolio. Provide on-site supervision of designated Campus Activities and Community Engagement events to oversee the use of facilities, compliance with policies and procedures, implementation of risk management measures, and assistance with problem resolution. Oversee the advisement, direction, assessment, and tracking of 400+ student organizations and advisors. Serve as lead Bobcat Organization Hub (Anthology Engage) administrator and provide user training to students and staff. Oversee the administration of the President’s Cup program and other initiatives that promote expanded engagement of student organizations in campus activities and events. Develop a comprehensive student organization handbook and other applicable resources for student organization leaders and advisors and ensure they are updated at least each semester. Address student concerns and grievances regarding involvement and engagement initiatives and student organization activities. Manage budgets for functions and programs under positional leadership and assist in the development of the overall departmental budget. Seek additional funding opportunities, including sponsorships, to support campus programs.
· Serve as a secondary advisor to the Student Government Association. Participate in departmental programs and projects designed to support the mission and goals of the university, division, and department. Serve as a member of the University’s Expressive Activities Team. Serve on committees and task forces, as assigned. Other duties as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description.
