Pearson has immediate openings for candidates to score the responses from candidates remotely in Assyrian, Farsi, Finnish, Greek, Guyanese Creole, Filipino, Malayalam, Mongolian, Punjabi, Swahili, Turkish, Vietnamese, and Yiddish.
Scorers evaluate responses to test questions by Illinois and New York teacher candidates, have a direct impact on the quality of the next generation of teachers, and help maintain professional standards.

Overall Responsibilities:
- Evaluate responses to test questions by Illinois and New York teacher candidates
- Internalize scoring standards, participate in discussions, and engage with other scorers in consensus scoring activities
- Recognize and discuss various types of bias (implicit bias, cultural bias, leniency bias, central tendency bias, halo effect) and apply strategies to reduce personal bias in scoring
- Meet quality and productivity requirements established for the scoring program, including passing a qualifying test before scoring
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree or higher
- A current teaching certification in the applied-for language and current or recent (within three years) teaching experience, OR a degree in a content-relevant field with recent teaching/advising experience, OR native/fluent proficiency in the language with a college degree
- Basic computer skills; ability to sit for extended periods; eligible to work in the United States
Working Conditions: Training takes place before scoring begins. Scoring sessions occur intermittently, two to three times a year, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
